Top 5 Things NOT to Do with Your Video Marketing Campaign

When you consider creating a video marketing campaign you may think of all of the things that you must do, but have you ever considered the things you shouldn’t do? This article is a brief overview of the things you should not do with your video marketing campaign - ever.

The first, and perhaps the most obvious thing not to do with your video marketing campaign: never create it.

If you don’t have a campaign, it won’t work for you. Lack of videos in this video crazed age means that you lose the ability to communicate with your followers, customers and potential clients.

Secondly, people want to see business and people that are personable and get it, so the second mistake people make when they are creating a video marketing campaign is: be too serious.

If you show up in a suit and tie on your viral video people won’t watch you. Be casual, be real. Don’t be totally scripted and cold. Don’t read from a card. Show up in a nice pair of khakis and a polo if you have to, but NO SUIT.

Thirdly, people want to do business with people. Even if you are the CEO of a Fortune 500, people want to eventually see you. So, our third thing to never do is: hide from the camera. If you show up on a viral marketing campaign talking about your business but never show yourself to your audience, they will eventually stop watching you. They don’t want to see your computer screen or images of you sitting on the beach. They want to see YOU. Be there for them and give them a face for the business. Watch what happens.

Fourth, people need to follow you, check back to see what you have to offer next and rely on you for information, which means the fourth thing not to do is: tell them everything.

If you are giving them everything they need to know in one huge video, you’ll lose them – partly because their attention span is about 60 seconds and partly because you told them what they needed to know. End your videos with a call to action. Tell them to go to your website or tell them to watch for your next video.

Finally, the fifth thing you should never do with your video marketing campaign is: act like you are the end all, be all.

People don’t want someone talking to them and telling them they are the best, the elite or the only person to crack the code. They want to hear that they can do it too, that you will provide them with a tool, that you will guide them. They want a real person, not a egotistical person. Publish your videos for the greater good to get noticed.

5 Reasons Video Will Change Your Website Conversions

Have you looked at YouTube.com’s alexa ranking lately? If you haven’t you should know that they are ranked number 3 behind Facebook and Google. That’s right. Video are hotter than ever before. Why? People want to watch rather than read. They are seeing who has something funny or innovative to say. That’s why you, in the spirit of the hottest trends, need to assure that you aren’t missing that bandwagon.

So, with there, here are the top 5 reasons video will change your website conversions.

1. People want to watch, not read.

With YouTube being the world’s third most popular website, you got to understand that people are going visual. They want to see what you have to offer in a video without having to read the first sentence of copy.

2. You can explain things to them that they may not have otherwise read.

If 3/4 of the way down the page you get to the point of why they should buy, you’ll understand why it might be important for you to provide them with a video that will get to that point a little sooner. It might take them five minutes to get to the most important call to action on your website, whereas it might only take them a minute to watch the video about it.

3. You can show them proof.

So you have a business where you can show proof of your effectiveness? If you are a marketer, public relations firm, physician, attorney, construction guru – no matter what you are – you can benefit by showing them proof of your skills. Anyone with a business online can also show proof success, no matter what it is that you do. Be sure to take before and after screen shots.

4. You can engage them.

Ask them questions in your video. We all know you won’t hear the answer, but it’s worth asking them questions that will verify in their own mind that they need you.

5. You can excite them.

You can reach people by allowing them to hear and see what you have to offer. If you are selling something tangible you can record someone else enjoying it, riding it, laughing about it. If you are selling a service you can record people who have experienced it, before and after screenshots of changes and so much more. When they see that other people have used it and are happy with it – you’re in!

4 Reasons to Use Videos

Videos aren’t just for business, as you may have noticed. There are amateurs filling up YouTube.com with videos of themselves or others. You may have also noticed that you aren’t the only one with a video on your website.

Here are four reasons you need to start using video today:

1. Create a video blog or video resume.

People want to see who you are and feel like they know you. If you can provide them with a way to learn more about you and your company they will be more likely to buy from you. You can send your own footage to your video marketing professional to be edited to include your site logo, branding, etc.

2. Promote your business.

Prepare a video that you can use on your own website as well as distribute to the major video engines to get more traffic to your website. Having a video allows them to understand more about you and who you are, rather than having to read about it and let’s face it, in this world of video, video is king and if you don’t have it – you’re going to be outdone and outsold by someone who does.

3. Show testimonials.

Ask your customers or clients to send in a video of themselves talking about their dealings and successes with you and offer then a goody or two in exchange. You can then send the video to your video guru to be edited and have your company brand put on it.

4. Show Proof.

Use a video to show them that before and after, that page one on google, the screenshot showing the  increase in sales, the weight others actually lost, anything. If you have a product or service where you can show proof of success you should be using videos. Still images just aren’t enough anymore.

Finally, now that you know how and why to use video, you should also understand that you need to protect your images and photos. By sending your video, photos, etc. to your video creation guru they can edit out the unimportant parts and impose your logo, brand or signature on the video while adding music or other things to the video.

Why You Need YouTube Marketing For Your Business

Raise your hand if you’ve ever been on YouTube to watch a video. Okay, put your hands down. We all know that YouTube is among the kings of the internet. They get mass amounts of traffic and videos can and often do go viral, meaning they are shared with friends, emailed and reach millions of views.

But, in the real world of business marketing, it isn’t often that a marketing video goes viral. The businesses who have had videos go viral have spent weeks coming up with crafty story lines and thousands on the video itself. If you aren’t a multi-million dollar business, you can still get traffic to your website through video marketing.

The first step is to have the video created by a professional.

Secondly, you’ll need to publish the video or pay for someone to publish the video to popular online video sites.

Finally, you’ll need to considering marketing your video. You can purchase views, ratings and comments to help you launch your video. Yes, that’s right. You can actually PAY to have your video viewed and to have ratings placed on your video. It’s rather simple. You can also choose to have comments placed on your video. The views ratings and comments will encourage others to view your video because a video with views, comments and ratings usually indicates that others have found it useful. They will tell their friends about your video or even share it on popular social networking sites.

No matter how many videos you have, you will benefit from marketing your video online. The traffic you will gain from a good video can launch your business or increase your revenue dramatically. Work with your video creation team to assure that they understand your vision for your video before the work is started. If you have any images or graphics you would like to be included, be sure to email it to your video producer. Finally, if you would like information, such as the name of your business, contact information, website addresses, phone numbers and more, be sure send an email with the correct information so they can include this information on the video when it is being created.

Once your video is created, the marketing magic can begin. If you already have an amazing video, but aren’t benefiting from it, you can market the video through purchasing views, rating and comments to bolster its effectiveness.

So you have a video on YouTube. Whether you created it yourself or had a professional video creation company accomplish that feat for you, you have taken a major step in promoting your business, organization or making people laugh. No matter what your video is for, you can now take all of the time and money spent in getting the video together to the next level and make it work for you. You can promote your video to increase visibility. You can actually encourage people to see your video. Share your video or comment on your video. What’s more is that you can actually get more viewers to your video because YouTube will recognize that you are getting attention and help you promote your video.
So, how do you begin?
1. Name your video something that is searchable. This is so people can find you easily through keywords in your title and also so you don’t have a name like videoimageslideABC as the title of your video. It just looks goofy and unprofessional.
2. Be crafty about the keywords you use when you publish your video. Videos are highly searchable and if you optimize your video upload by plugging in keywords you will quickly realize that you are gaining additional traffic to your website from your videos.
3. Include your domain name in your in your description as well as some more keywords. If people like what they see in your video they may choose to come search you out on your website. Providing them with an easy to click link to your site may mean more business and traffic for you in the long-run.
Submit your video to video bookmarking directories. If you are going to take the time to have a video created you should take the time to properly promote it and bookmarking your video on video directories not only drives more traffic to the video itself, but creates a viral effect that will help you rank higher in search engines for your video, thus driving more traffic to it and to your website.
Finally, monitor the comments on your video. If you have anyone place a comment on your video it is your chance to interact with them, tell them more about your product, service or organization and develop a relationship with people who have taken the time to watch your video and comment on it. Ask them to subscribe to your videos so you know that you have a base of followers watching for your next creation.

Powerful companies have been using video to market their businesses since television was invented. In recent years videos have been published online to help promote to an ever-growing audience viewing videos on popular sites such as YouTube. Many businesses also use videos on their websites to tell their customers and clients about what they do, how they do it or what they can expect when doing business with them. Videos that are published to public online video sites may also go “viral” which means that anyone who likes the information or the content of your video can choose to tell their friends about it, post a link to the video on their favorite social media account, or even post the video on their website.

A recent survey suggested that many internet users see a video on a website as a credibility statement. Sites that do not have a video posted on the main page or a obvious sub-page of their site risk being seen as behind the times or even out-of-date. Additionally, videos allow website viewers to learn more about what you have to offer without ever having to read your site. This reduces the time that your clients spend reading about what you have to offer and reduces the chances they will be confused or lose interest in your product or service and leave your site without taking action.

Do you have a new product or service on your website that your existing clients should know about? A video is a great way to launch something new. Publishing a video about a new product or service on your website means that you are communicating with your clients with visual and audio tools. They will understand your new product or service more quickly. It has been shown that sending an email out to customers that provide a link to the video which details something new usually converts to a high click through rate, which means your customers read that you have something new, see that you are offering a video and automatically want to see more.

No matter why you need a video for your business, chances are you can’t get by without one. Whether you are publishing on your website or on one of many video submission sites, the truth of the matter is that videos and video marketing is only going to become more and more important in effectively marketing your business.

Types of Videos for Marketing and Using them Effectively

Everyone knows that video marketing is an important part of your overall marketing strategy but sometimes figuring out how and when to use it can be confusing.  There are so many types of videos you can use to promote your business.  You can do a sales pitch type video, a promotional video, a product demonstration video and many other kinds.  This article will break down the different types of videos you can use for youtube marketing and how and when each one should be used.

1)    Promotional Video – This video is designed to be nothing more than a traffic source.  The idea is to create a short :30-:60 video that just quickly grabs the attention of your user and get them on the way to your website.  This video is best used on video sharing sites such as youtube, viddler, metacafe and others.  A Promotional video is not meant to be a sales video or to give specifics on your business it is just designed to pique enough curiosity to get a user headed to your domain.

2)    Sales Video – This video is used to do just what it says generate more sales.  This type of video can be a little longer usually anywhere from 2-7 minutes and should be filled with benefits that your customer will get out of visiting your site or using your product.  Think of this video as your door to door salesman, knocking on doors and telling your companies story.  This type of video is also helpful in promoting yourself to prospective clients by taking a few minutes to tell them how you can help them.

3)    Demonstration Video – Demonstration videos are very powerful it allows your prospective client to look at and see your product in action before they buy. It also is a great training tool for people who have already bought your product.  You may find that every time you sell your product you seem to get the same question from multiple customers, a video is a great way to illustrate something your customers may not be 100% sure about.

4)    Instructional Video – Instructional videos are kind of like demonstration videos except rather than demonstrating you are instructing.  So for example, maybe you have a site that requires steps to sign up or to set it up to work.  Rather than just using FAQ’s or depending on your clients to figure it out, you can make a video that engages them and tells them exactly step by step what you want them to do.  This is a great way to get people through the sales process because when you tell people exactly what to do it leaves less room for confusion and possible sale abandonment.  These videos serve a great dual purpose as well when you upload them to youtube and someone maybe searching on “how to” do something your site or service may be exactly what they are looking for.  This type of video brings an educated and excited prospect right to your front door.

These are just a few types of videos you can add to your online video marketing arsenal.  The beauty of video and its interactivity is that it really allows you to take a creative approach to your marketing that no other medium can give you.  It allows you to reach out and interact with your audience one at a time over and over again.
